Church of St. Francis, Byrness

Stained Glass Windows,
Byrness Church.

This window was my reason for visiting this church. It is in memory of the men, women & children who died during the construction of the Catcleugh Reservoir, instead of the usual glorification of the local landed gentry. One interesting feature is that it shows a steam engine.

Unfortunately the church was locked so I had to take the photograph from the outside through a window on the opposite side of the church, so the quality of the photo is below standard.

The nearby church at Horsley.
