Due to the increasing number of photos on my Photos website I have split it into two webpages so that the webpages load more quickly. One webpage is photographs taken in UK, this one is photographs taken overseas, (apart from a few anaomalies).

In the early 70's, after graduating, I travelled extensively throughout Turkey, and had a few trips beyond to Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Nepal. It was the days of the "Hippie Trail to Mother India". Drugs were everywhere and cost next to nothing. In reality, most travellers were pretty straight young people struggling to get around on very limited money. Travelling was adventurous then, it was before cheap flights, all journeys were on buses, trains & trucks. It was hard but it was interesting.

While I was working overseas, mostly in Indonesia, from 1988 to 2000 I had other priorities. I didn't do any photography apart from simple holiday snapshots, more often I didn't take any photographs at all :-( I missed some tremendous opportunities.

Now that I'm retired I'm waiting for a commission from National Geographic ;-) . . . . I'm not holding my breath, I've been waiting 30 years ;-(

Awww, Damn it! I'll throw away the chance of that commission by including a load of second rate photos, after all this is meant to be showing you what fascinating places that these countries are, not me trying to show what a good photographer that I was ;-) Click on the thumbnail and there may be multiple photographs.
